Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 12-inch skillet or pizza pan with unsalted butter or oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine thawed hash browns with melted butter, salt, and ground black pepper, mixing well.
  3. Press the hash brown mixture firmly into the skillet or pizza pan to form an even layer with raised edges.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crisp to the touch.
  5. Remove the crust and layer on shredded cheddar cheese, optional sausage or bacon, diced bell pepper, and chopped green onions.
  6. Make small depressions in the cheese for the eggs.
  7. Crack large eggs into the wells made, then season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 to 12 minutes until the egg whites are set.
  9. Let cool for 3 minutes before slicing and serving hot.
