  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

  • 3/4 cup Water Adjust thickness
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs Use gluten-free if needed
For the Honey Mustard Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Neutral Oil Can replace with favorite cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons Agave or Maple Syrup
  • 3 tablespoons Yellow or Dijon Mustard Choose based on flavor intensity

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the 'Honey' Mustard Sauce by whisking together oil, sweetener, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a towel and placing a heavy object on top for 10 minutes. Slice into 1-inch strips.
  3. Make the batter by mixing flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and optional paprika. Gradually stir in water until thick.
  4. Coat each tofu strip in the batter and then in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Set aside on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the tofu strips for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden.
  6. Once baked, brush each tender with the honey mustard sauce and return to the oven for an additional 5-8 minutes.
