For Frying
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil Can substitute with canola or peanut oil.
  • 2 tbsp Butter Ghee or margarine can be used.
For Serving
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Yellow Mustard Can use Dijon for a zesty twist.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Malibu Chicken
  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness in a resealable plastic bag until about ½ inch thick.
  2. Create a breading station with flour seasoned with onion powder, garlic salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour, dip in the buttermilk mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry the breaded chicken in heated oil and butter for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Transfer fried chicken to a baking sheet, layer with Swiss cheese and ham, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Mix equal parts mayonnaise and yellow mustard for a tasty sauce to serve with the chicken.
