  • 1.5 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Can use dark chocolate for richer taste.
  • 1.5 cups Milk Chocolate Chips Substitute with more semi-sweet if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Use unsalted for better salt control.
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Key ingredient; substitution is not advised.
  • 1 packet Hot Chocolate Mix Use a quality mix for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Peppermint extract can be used for stronger flavor.
Topping
  • 2 cups Marshmallows Can use mini marshmallows if preferred.
  • Peppermint Candy Canes/Crushed Peppermints Optional but recommended for garnish.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan lined with foil or parchment, sprayed with cooking spray.
  2. Melt the fudge mixture in a double boiler over medium heat, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  3. Stir in marshmallows until slightly melted after removing from heat.
  4. Add vanilla extract, mix well, and pour into prepared pan.
  5. Press remaining marshmallows into the fudge surface.
  6. Chill covered for at least 4 hours until firm.
  7. Melt chocolate and butter, drizzle over fudge.
  8. Lift fudge from the pan, cut into squares, and optionally sprinkle with crushed peppermint.
