Step-by-Step Instructions for Hamburger Dinner Casserole
  1. Begin by cooking the medium pasta shells according to package directions (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with minced garlic, salt, and pepper over medium heat for 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the drained pasta, tomato soup, and water, and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and top with half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
