  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs use fine breadcrumbs
  • 1 Grated Onion or onion powder
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream light cream or coconut cream can work
  • 1 Egg or flaxseed or chia seed mix for egg-free
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil or vegetable oil
For the Creamy Dill Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter or non-dairy butter
  • 1 Diced Onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic finely minced
  • 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour or arrowroot or cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 1 cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth vegetable broth for a non-meat version
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream for richness
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Dill use fresh

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine grated onion, ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, heavy cream, and beaten egg. Mix gently with your hands until just combined and set aside.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties about 1-inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add patties, searing for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 2 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the sautéed onions and garlic, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring until thickened.
  6. Lower heat, stir in heavy cream and chopped dill. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until thick and creamy.
  7. Return hamburger steaks to the skillet, coating them in sauce. Simmer for 5-6 minutes to heat through.
  8. Transfer to a warm serving plate, drizzle extra sauce over top, and serve immediately.
