Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Iced Tea
- In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of sliced fresh strawberries, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes, until the strawberries are soft and the sugar is dissolved. Strain the mixture and let syrup cool completely.
- Boil 2 cups of water in a kettle. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep 4 black tea bags in hot water for 5 minutes. Carefully remove tea bags and stir in 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until dissolved.
- In a large pitcher, mix the cooled strawberry syrup with the brewed tea. Add 2 cups of cold water and 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice, stirring well to combine.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes to chill the drink. Pour the strawberry iced tea into each glass and garnish with fresh mint leaves or sliced strawberries.
