  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar for sweetness
  • 1 cup warm water to dissolve the sugar
For the Soda
  • club soda or carbonated water for fizziness

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of warm water and ¾ cup of granulated sugar. Stir over medium heat until dissolved, about 2-3 minutes. Add 1 ½ cups of chopped fruit and bring to a gentle boil. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat and strain mixture into a clean bowl using a fine-mesh strainer. Discard solids and let cool to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Fill your favorite glasses halfway with ice cubes.
  4. Pour 4 tablespoons of cooled fruit syrup over the ice in each glass. Add club soda or carbonated water until about three-quarters full.
  5. Top with a splash of cream, stir gently to combine, and adjust cream to your liking.
